Oh, sorting results by date could be a really helpful feature! Thank you for the suggestion 🙂

I apologize for not being more clear. My desire was being able to sort all the fine articles by date, thus ensure seeing the most recent and hopefully most relevant.

As Matt noted, we have filters for some topics as well as search within each of our types of articles. However, a topic like this can show up in our normal articles or over in our support section – so while you could search both separately I would advise using our site-wide search option instead. It is accessible via the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner of our site, and will let you perform a search like this: https://www.pugetsystems.com/search.php?query=windows+10+backup

The first three articles there could all be applicable, any you can see the dates each of them were published as well 🙂

For reference, our lists of articles (with search and some filtering) can be found here:

There are filters on each of the article listing pages (support guides, hardware articles, blogs, etc) – this is the main page for the support guides like this one: https://www.pugetsystems.com/help/index.php . It doesn’t look like they have a filter directly for backup software, but there is also a search bar you can use.

The only other relevant post I could find was this one about using the Win10 built-in backup software though: https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/support-software/Backup-Options-Within-Windows-10-1398/

I’d like to find the latest and greatest on backup software out of the 529 total posts.

I really like Argentum Backup which is a really good backup program for Windows 7/10. I’ve been using it for over 10 years already. It is very fast and easy to use. It can both compress files into Zip or back up natively.

I gather there is a fundamental problem with this: you’re making your automated backup from within Windows, so the backup program sees the disk decrypted; but when you go to do an emergency system recovery, the restore environment is running outside Windows, without the low-level encryption drivers. Thus you wind up restoring an unencrypted disk with a boot sector that expects an encrypted disk. Has anyone solved this so that it “just works”?
